Hair Transplant Procedure

Hair transplantation is a procedure in which hair follicle is taken from the donor area (which generally is back and side of the head) and is transplanted in the bald area or wherever it is required. First Procedure

 Hair follicles/Grafts are extracted individually from the back side of the Donor area (head, beard or other body parts) with the help of special micro punches (size varying from 0.6mm – 1.0mm). Some surgeons use larger punches but they are now not advised anymore as they leave a big scar.

Second Procedure

 These follicles/Grafts are transplanted in the bald area of scalp, beard, moustache, eyebrows or wherever they are required.

These transplanted hair grow naturally after brief initial resting phase. They are absolutely natural, person can trim, shave, colour, dye or can do whatever he/she wants to do with them. Any hair style or haircut, any shampoo, gel or oil can be applied. On these transplanted hair, no maintenance is required.

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) Technique

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) technique is one of the most preferred techniques even today. In this technique we surgically take out a strip of hair from the donor area (back of the head) and close the gap with the help of sutures which dissolve by themselves after some time. The strip that has been taken out is kept under microscope and is split into individual follicle units and then transplanted into the recipient (Bald) area.
